Privacy Policy

What we collect, why we collect it, who processes it, and how you can have it deleted.

This policy covers bysicle.com, the Bicycle app for Mac, and Bicycle Cloud, our hosted speech and answer service (together, the "Service"). "Bicycle", "we" and "us" mean the operator of the Service. Questions go to marmik@bysicle.com.

We do not sell your personal data. We do not use your audio, text, boards or files to train AI models.

1. What stays on your Mac

Bicycle runs on your Mac. Your boards, notes, knowledge base, conversation history and the files you open stay on your Mac. We do not receive them unless you use a cloud feature that needs them, as described below.

You can run speech on your Mac and use your own AI provider (a subscription you already have, an API key, or an endpoint you run). When you do, requests go straight from your Mac to that provider, under that provider's terms and privacy policy, not ours.

2. What we collect

3. How we use it

We do not use your content to train AI models, and we do not allow the providers who process it for us to train on it.

4. Google user data

Sign in with Google gives us your name, email address and profile picture. We use them only to create and sign in to your Bicycle account and to show who is signed in. We do not sell this data, use it for advertising, share it with anyone except the providers who run sign-in for us, or use it to train AI models. Bicycle's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. You can remove Bicycle's access at any time at myaccount.google.com/permissions.

5. Who processes it for us

We use service providers to run the Service: cloud hosting and databases, account sign-in, speech recognition, speech synthesis and AI model providers, email delivery, and product analytics. They process data only on our instructions and only to provide their part of the Service. We may disclose data if the law requires it, to protect people's safety, or to enforce our Terms, and to a buyer if the Service is sold, under this policy.

6. How long we keep it

7. Your choices and rights

You can use Bicycle without an account and without any cloud feature. You can turn analytics off in settings. You can ask us to access, correct or delete your personal data, or withdraw consent, by writing to marmik@bysicle.com. We answer within 30 days. Depending on where you live, including under India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 and the EU and UK GDPR, you may have further rights, including the right to complain to your data protection authority.

8. Security and transfers

Data in transit is encrypted with TLS. Sign-in tokens on your Mac are stored in the macOS Keychain. Our providers may process data outside your country, including in the United States and India, with safeguards that the law requires.

9. Children

The Service is not meant for anyone under 18. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe a child has given us data, write to us and we will delete it.

10. Changes

We will post changes here with a new effective date. If a change is material, we will tell you in the app or by email before it takes effect.
